This summer, we are excited to have new (and returning) guest instructors for our Summer Intensive classes!

Our next featured guest instructor is Maggie Crowley.  Maggie has been certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) since 2016, after studying with the founder, and it has really helped her students understand how to use the correct muscles.  PBT is the conditioning technique using exercise balls, playground balls and therabands to build strength and muscle memory.   The great thing about PBT is that you can drill specific steps on the ball – for example, batterie, pirouettes, tour jete, or renverse – and then apply the corrections and increased understanding to the step in context.

Maggie Crowley holds a BFA in dance and a BS in political communication from Emerson College. She is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique and in levels 1-3 of the ABT National Training Curriculum. She has attended continuing education classes with Deborah Vogel (Optimal Performance Dance), Bruce Marks and Roni Mahler. Her choreography has been featured at Dixon Place (NYC), the Dance Complex (Cambridge), First Thursdays in Jamaica Plain, the Boston Children’s Dance Festival, the and Dances in Black and White at the Schubert Theatre. Maggie has worked as a guest teacher in the Cambridge Public Schools, United South End Settlement House, Dance Across the City, and and many studios in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She received her early training in Vaganova technique at Valley Ballet in Collinsville, Connecticut.
